Every March, Hobbycraft celebrates National Craft Month and this year, the team offered a discount on products and workshops to encourage customers to get making. The campaign aimed to boost positivity through crafting, and my challenge was to create the online and in-store assets to promote it.

The artwork has three sections: the logo, the imagery and the information. I knew I wanted to bring in a brush stroke effect to the blocks of colour to emphasise the crafty nature of the poster, and it turned out to be a good way of separating the information well. The hierarchy was another aspect to balance; although I didn’t want the logo to distract from the promotional offer, it needed to be recognisable as this would be an annual campaign Hobbycraft run.
